The department of orthopedics is a center of excellence for joint replacement including hip and knee joint replacement. The department is well equipped in handling primary and complex knee and hip replacement surgeries including primary and complex revision TKRs AND THRs and replacement in patients with severe deformities of limbs. Enhanced recovery pathways are utilized to accelerate the patients’ recovery. The department is also a center of excellence for sports related injuries. It receives a large number of sports related injury cases including national and international sports person. It is proficient in handling shoulder, knee and ankle related injuries including ACL, PCL, meniscal, cartilage, rotator cuff and other shoulder injuries.
The team also deals with simple and complex trauma of extremities including pelvi-acetabular injuries. The department receives and manages a number of sprains, strains, tendon injuries, dislocations, low back pain, sciatica, ruptured discs, bow legs, scoliosis, knock knees, hammer toes, bone tumors, congenital anomalies including club feet, cerebral palsy, growth anomalies, muscular dystrophies and multiple others. The role of our department does not end at operating table rather it is a long term commitment to patients which involves rehabilitation, physical therapy and vocational therapy to restore strength, movement and function of extremities.
